Calls for help were repeatedly ignored, a tactic that would prove fatal later when the number of defenders in the SE corner fell. Another cause of the undead victory was the stupidity and lack of coordination among survivors. When the SE corner fell, there were 192 survivors inside to the 100 of the zombies. Had 25 or more active reinforcements come from each of the other corners, the beachhead might have been destroyed. That, as well as decent zombie coordination towards the end of the siege, resulted in the slaughterhouse that was Giddings Mall
