Yeah yeah, and then the debate rages on in the comments of the video about whether Flemish is a language or a dialect... My favorite is the person who says, "Er, no Flemish is not a dialect, it’s a variant. Like British English and American English. Both English but deviating pronounciation, spelling and, to lesser extent, vocabulary." Umm... yeah... that's called a dialect. I wonder what that person thinks is the difference between a dialect and a "variant"? The difference between language and dialect is often blurred... dialect chains are good evidence of that. Then politics come into play and linguistic considerations are largely ignored.
