Yes, go figure that American rap is filled with hate, and inappropriate things 
. I'm a big fan of Techno/electronic music, so I like the basis of rap from the start. The biggest problem as I said is when U.S. rappers bust out stupid stuff like 50 Cent's Candy Shop. I listen to foreign "rap" though, and I'm actually quite a fan of Bushido. And it's not really the violence that I don't like, but more of the fact that alot of what I hear in U.S. rap is "I killed this guy, I shot that guy, that guy killed that guy".
RATM, well, wikipedia classifies them as
Alternative metal
Alternative rock
Funk metal
Rapcore.
Me though? I classify everything in the rock, but not metal category as rock. I'm lazy, I know.
