I always have a mental picture of someone gritting their teeth like they are being forced to divulge info, when in fact they are lying. But I don't know how that phrase came about.
oh you mean how when people tell me i bother them while gritting their teeth when they're actually thinking, "please keep talking to me you are entertaining and i would like to have you over at our house for a game of yahtzee!"
