Today, Nov 7, 2007, at around 8:45 am central time, on the way up the stairs, a good friend of mine had a grave accident, and is no longer with us.
Yes, I regret to inform you all that my signature colossal headphones have been broken, due to a fatal stepping on of the cord by yours truly, and the subsequent ripping out of the jack from my Zune.
Thankfully, no collateral damage was done to the Zune, but my precious headphones are no more. I am not sure what exactly caused their death, as the jack is still as pristine in appearance as it was when I got it, and the wire does not appear ripped, but I can only assume internal damage is involved.
So please, if you all could, say a prayer to whatever god you worship for my poor companion, the big headphones. My image will never be the same...
...at least until I buy a new pair. On a related note, who has some extra cash?
