Ohh, Neil Stephenson! Awesome book, read it 4 times or something now, but I'm not quite sure I'm getting the comparison. Sure, there where not really any rules in that society, but that kinda depended on where you were and where you had access. Anyway, please do tell.
German ain't that hard to understand you know, I kinda get it, and I haven't learned any at all. Though that's probably because of similarities in language and whatnot.
