Wow, it's rare that I get to quote my own writings so perfectly: To quote Padre's less then sane friend:
"Paint comes from piss, violin strings come from cat guts, glass comes from sand, and flowers come from dirt, the great thing about [art] is the change"
The source isn't important, nor is the message, beauty is a thing in and of itself. No one wonders about the moral character of michelangelo or the (possibly) pruient inspiration for the sudden appearance of naked (*gasp* Naked!) aphrodite figures in ancient greece...they're pretty now, and that's what matters. Similarly, the fact that "Mighty O" might be an ego work about how awsome outcast is doesn't change the fact that the call and response system used in the song is AWSOME.
I like minimalism because it's easier to listen to...my favorite works of music are the Musettes...or maybe "Baba Yetu", thanks to Hec.
