My personal favorit philosphper is Epictitus, who famously said something to the effect of: "If you hear someone speak ill about you, you must respond: 'clearly they are dim-witted, or they do not know me, else they could have come up with FAR worse things to say'
Heraclitus and you are in a long line of fire-worshipping monists including pythagoras, most foraging societies, and that one freak who blew in here last april fools day and pretended to know who I am.
