I'm guessing (because of course Sir Fred has asked me to guess at his meanings and post them rather than reply himself before I can do so) that Sir Fred was wondering what was happening in the library during the 6 ap aka 3 hours that had to pass before he could log in again and see.
Whether I'm wrong or right, it's certainly what I would have meant : )
