Sure, in case of retaking places co-ordination will of course work best, but when fighting a over a mall you can never know when the zeds will strike, and therefore, because of the zeds co-ordination, it can't be defended very easily. Of course that depends a bit on how co-ordinated the zeds are.Coordination also means assigning teams to be active at all times and recognizing a pattern in zed attacks. You seem to think that in a siege situation only attackers can have coordination and tactics.

Attitudes arent the problem. The problem is getting survivors to ONE forum to work from, and alot of people do not have the time to go ping-ponging across forums.
Ask yourself
WHY IS LUE/SHACKNEWS SO WELL COORDINATED?
Because the group existed as a separate forum before coming to UD, so all their members are already at the board and all the members know one another so they know timezones.
So, NO, it is not our attitudes to coordination.
Then what is it? What is what you just said if not a description of the inferior survivor attitudes to coordination?
This situation at hand.
AGAIN, i am repeating myself, but, everyone just got hit hard. 2 major population centers fell and we are still reeling to revive them and get back on our feet. We are flat footed. More blunt, we're bent over a railing with our ass exposed. Playing catch-up with our pants around our ankles by half-assedly jumping to hildebrand just because a few trenchies think they're spartans (and lets not get into how horrible that movie is either) NEVER worked. We tried it a year ago when we first went into Ridley, and we got our ass kicked, because we were constantly trying to play catch-up with a blitzkrieging enemy.
EDIT: I also forgot alot of people are going off to caiger to do the flare thing which has left us exposed again. I'm irked by it, but i cant really be angry because this was totally unforeseen.

But see, if more experienced people took part in the defense and at least tried to organize it, it wouldn't be half-assed. As it stands, it's probably true that the only people there will be "trenchies thinking they're Spartans". (Which is still not as bad as it could be. I don't share the seeming near-universal hatred for trenchcoaters.)
By using river tactics it allows us to reform and regroup. It's also an extreme denial tactic to starve out the horde.
Think of this.
375 LUE Members
Average Level 5
Lets say we evacuate the suburb and there about 50 killed in the siege. Assume the 50 have body building. thats 3500 experience points there. Now divide that amongst the horde and thats 10 experience points per zombie. This keeps the horde at a low level which makes it easier for us later on.

What later on? Any stand you make is going to be the exact same situation. If you don't want to do it now, why would you do it later?
Also, if we're going to go into who is brave and who isn't, then we've got more credibility in that department than you've got, which is why people tend to listen to an evac order.
I can't argue with that. That's why your absolute denial of even considering defending a mall surprises me.
