The forum could use some reorganization. From the looks of it it seems more of a recruiting place for some survivor groups. Merging the recruitment subforums into a single NMC subforum as mentioned earlier would be wiser and would reduce clutter. Each group of the NMC could list their group's info in a sticky thread for possible recruits to read and that should be enough.
I would suggest making forums more focused towards survival and discussing the game mechanics:
Survivor Techniques
Game Updates
Repelling the Horde
Current Battles
Game Suggestions
That sort of thing.
