I admit their music is pretty corny, but oh my God, Herman Li and Sam Totman were blessed when it comes to shredding. I'm actually a fan of more traditional power metal, such as Helloween, Trivium, Demoniac, Firewind, etc...
And tool? Their name describes perfectly what their sound is like. Stomping on a rake, and getting hit in the junk.
I've actually gone to a tool concert, stood on the balcony, and yelled "haha-tool!" for the better part of an hour...you know you have a messed up fanbase when such actions start a fight between people on the dance floor who
A) Think making fun of a band necessitates violent action
B) Are just trying to have a good time listening to something that sounds like slow, ritualized cat-strangling
C) Just want to hit something because they hate their parents
All the people I liked died 50 years ago
I read this and felt for a few seconds like worshiping you, then I realized you were at the Tool concert too.
