Really, do you just have an obsession with dying? It's been said before, and now it'll be said again: We CANNOT hold against them in a siege. The best thing we got for awhile now is going to be guerrilla tactics, which means going into suburbs they ruin, reviving the locals, and moving on to the next suburb to do it again.
If you paid attention at all to the battles of the last month or so, you'd see that even our best efforts failed each time. Santlerville was probably the most organized one, and they held off a portion of the Dead. Just a portion. When the entire battalion got there, they wiped them out immediately.
Dulston was another site of resistance for quite awhile, holding against the Bash. Then the MoB showed up and they were finished in barely a night.
There was a stand in Roftwood, against the RRF Wrecking Ball. That failed and the entire thing became a slaughter.
Before that Shearbank held for awhile against Extinction. Then the Dead came and it fell instantly. Then the efforts to hold Yagoton failed.
The only success we've had in the last month has been in guerrilla tactics; holding places isn't working. Period.
This.
All of this is truth.
The Rangers have been practicing these tactics for awhile now.
People large scale sieges are a thing of the past now, we can't win them.
Perhaps in the future that will change but for now the best course of action is what Rockby stated above.
Standing in the way of giant mega hordes like The Dead isn't helping survivors, it's helping them.
Survivors have to adapt.
