I'm glad I wasn't drinking when I saw this. Otherwise my keyboard would be covered from laughing so hard. You have achieved Kim Jong-Il levels of genius -- err -- self-delusion with this post.
The reasons why the balance swung.
1. A lot of the Dead got tired of the game, reducing the amount of zerging asshats out there (also, all of the honorable zombie hordes desperately avoided being in the same place as the Dead which was quite hard during their peak).
2. Kevan buffed search rates, especially on needles, to an insane degree. My survivor alt once found 8 needles in a ruined building in a day's worth of AP. When you've got that many needles floating around, it doesn't matter how well organized zombies are (or even how many of them are cheating, botting asshats like the dead), the balance will swing. The search rates have come down, but not to where they were before the Dead showed up.
3. Nerfed barricade obstruction. Obviously this was being tweaked throughout, and I think Kevan landed on a good spot (not overpowered like when it was first introduced, no longer nerfed). But when we returned to greater Ridleybank barricade obstruction basically didn't exist.
4. Survivors honestly did adapt. What really made the buffed search rates on needles work is that the Dead hit home to the average survivor just how important they are. There are fewer trenchcoaters running around shooting zombies outside, and a lot more labcoaters reviving anything that's swaying. I think the organized groups don't deserve too much credit, because most of them have realized how important revives are for a while. It's more the non-metagaming survivor who realized that reviving creates more survivors, while random headshotting creates... nothing.
As far as where our Barhah is now...? It's in your mall, eating your brains. And if Blackmore is anything like it was last time, we'll only need to send one of our strike teams to finish off the job.
