It would just be a small chat box at the bottom or top (whichever everyone prefers) of the NMC boards that people could use to chat and what not. A few other UD forums use it such as this one for example.
If we were to use one it would come from Cbox for any that are curious.
I've already created an account and a chat box that I would be able to moderate so if someone got out of hand trolling or spamming the thing I could take care of it.
The only thing is there is no way that I know of to hide it from unregistered users since the NMC forums are now completely open. So whatever is written in there will be for all to see. Which I really don't see as much of a problem really, this box is mostly just for casual talk and not anything particularly secretive.
So that's it, if you think it's a dumb idea feel free to say so. I certainly don't want to slap the thing on here to see it go completely unused.
If it does go up it would mostly be used by any NMC members (or anyone really) that just wanted to chat about what ever. I think it could be fun.
