Could be a good idea, although a few groups have IRC for the more secretive things.
The current chat box is an experiment to bring a bit more fun to the NMC community.
I'll try and look into it though and perhaps some better smilies as well. Although I can change the smiley colors between orange, yellow, and blue if you guys prefer one of those over the other.
