?come on...How about a small wave that has perfect timing..that knocks you off balance. 
I agree with my dear DrBrainz on this. Much more than a drop, and no tsunami by any stretch. But I digress. A more realistic look would be like army ants. They came and swarmed over the area and are moving leaving behind a wake of destruction. As every hoard does. But it's the effect it has on the smaller groups that will be really felt. My group will continue of that I have no doubt. But some of the other groups that were in the area, well I believe they may have become history.
Oh well.
