First off, we, the Irish, are drunk off our asses roughly 70% of the time. Secondly, a drunk man cannot be trusted to maintain a reasonable sense of reality. Thirdly, most of the people who get drunk cannot do that kind of math. And finally, it's a "Drinking" Song, and cannot be expected to adhere to any established form of reason. I must say though, that this is fascinating and absurdly amusing.
