I dunno, if they were cleaned and oiled before they were locked up and haven't been knocked around too much they should be ready for action.... A rimfire .22 (a few steps above BB) is probably more deadly in my hands than a .50 armor piercer in yours, by what I can tell from your firearms experience. Bang on there. (Excuse the pun) I got as far as prone position shooting badge at camp.(did not get the standing position one ) I went on a bird hunt a couple of times. Pheasant on a relatives' farm in Kansas and duck along the gulf coast. Didn't fire a shot. Just went for the camaraderie. Getting up before dawn to go down to the local coffee shop with all the other hunters . Did get pretty good with a duck call though ;D
