I remember those days... The nice red welt across my left wrist made the kids at school think I was an emo using a plastic knife or something. A good vambrace fixes all that as well as improving accuracy though. Eventually you lose feeling in your wrist. Compound bows are so much easier though. More accurate, more powerful, and more awesome looking. I once shoot completely through a deer with my compound, it didn't even react to the hit. Kinda weird.
