Turns out I wasn't dead. Having dipped into a ruined building (better than nothing), I found myself shacked up with a zed. So when I said "dead" in the chat box I really meant "as good as dead". Imagine my surprise to log in and have 9 AP and 5 health. He beat the hell out of me, but I was aliiiive!
So I ran, I ran so far awaaaay...to the Rathbone!...where you weren't!
On my way, I was mauled for another 4 HP...
I will find this all even MORE hysterical if I actually eventually make it to safety. But I think the odds are a bit slim.
update: made it till just a few hours ago. hello, Swansborough.
