The universe is made up of an infinite number of parallel time lines. Each moment in history is parallel with every other moment in history on every other time line. Thus time travel wouldn't be the travel back in time, but the travel sideways in the infinite time lines. .
Me and Hec (remember Hec) disproved the existence of parallel universes back in sixth grade...it was mostly his doing, and is rather similar to Jimmy Moog's argument, it can also be illustrated, oddly enough, off of the number pi, here goes:
IF parallel universes exist as per pretty much any incarnation they take in science or science fiction, THEN there would have to be an infinite number of them (There are an infinite number of novel number combinations inside the number PI, it never terminates or repeats)
IF there were an infinite number of them, THEN any event which does not defy the laws of physics, however statistically unlikely, would have to be Possible (Any number combination, no matter how big, exists somewhere in Pi) To put this another way, there's a universe out there where every poker game in the history of the universe involved someone getting a royal flush.
IF travel, or any method of interaction, between parallel universes is not against the laws of physics, THEN it must, somewhere in the infinite worlds, have happened. (The number combination 61616352111114 exists somewhere in Pi)
IF there are really an infinite number of worlds, THEN it must have happened an infinite number of times. (The number combination 61613521111114 happens an infinite number of times somewhere in PI)
IF it happened an infinite number of times, THEN there would be an interaction between a parallel universe and this one at every possible point in space and time...there's not just one guy opening a door between worlds, there's an infinite number of him.
IF there's a way to open a door between worlds or such nonsense, the odds are "1" that someone will open such a door, in your room, right...NOW! (And everywhere and everywhen else)
Since it hasn't happened, we can conclude there's no way to interact with "Parallel worlds"
In which case, they're just a fun thought experiment and will never have any bearing on our daily lives.
PS: I'm watching you all
