But if the differences between these parallel worlds would most likely not be anything big, how would you know if you've slipped into one? Sure, there is the chance of you bumping into yourself, but if these switches happen all the time, that could also mean that the world shifts constantly for everyone. Maybe often enough for the odds of someone bumping into themselves becoming minuscule? I like these thought experiments though. They keep you on edge.
Also: If the time travel occurred we'd most likely have an accelerated development of the everything. People carrying diseases from the future and past. Technology, environmental impact because of exploitation of the past, even evolution could be accelerated by crossbreeding between time-lines. Edit: Time-lines, or points in time I suppose.
