Ive got a thing for zombie flicks, but 28 days really did come off as if they didnt know what they wanted to do with the movie. its fine to have these movies have some sort of social commentary or message in them. In fact thats what makes great movies great.
I honestly dont have any high hopes for the new movie. I think the preview i saw for it will be better than the actual movie because of alot of cool images, like the soldier giving a peace sign as the car hes pushing leaves him behind, and dramatic music. The poster is cool also. It reminds me of the 1980's punk/crust bands. I may try and get one.

Personally i think 28 days is one of favorites, Not as fun as army of darkness or as funny as Night OF The Trippin' Dead.

I like 28 days too, it's grimy and you have average people (with brains) trying their best to survive. A tad more compelling than some polished, dumb yankee chick running around just screaming her head off... Not sure how 28 weeks will be but they definately have a larger budget here so there will be some cool scenes at least methinks..... Army of Darkness is hilarious though:D

I agree that army of darkness is much funnier that almost anything else.
I really liked 28 days later its what turned me back on to zombie films. The only thing I really didn't like about the movie was once they ran into the guys from the army and the movie suddenly decided that it needed to have social commentary in it, I am fine with the social commentary heck I think thats why I like the original George Romeo movies so much, but there was really no commentary until the military came in to the picture.
On that note I think that this one will be better for a couple of reasons, first like renton said it looks to have a larger budget we all know what you can do with more money, and secondly it looks as though its going to just be an action/horror movie, which is really what the whole apocalypse survival genre is good for.

the weird thing is that if you watch the dvd alt ending they had something totally different planned. The father gets infected, turns out no military is there, they find a hospital, they find ouot that you can swap the blood with a non-infected it uninfects them, main character swaps blood and becomes infected. the end.
thats pretty good support for my theory that they didnt know where the hell they wanted to go with the movie if thats the second best idea they could throw together. I also feel pussy for a safe haven in a military castle during a zombie nightmare is a pretty good trade off, not on the scale of the orders to commit the final solution like the main character acted it was. they could have had a better movie if 10000 zombies showed up and just killed everyone in a horrible way.

Ive got a thing for zombie flicks, but 28 days really did come off as if they didnt know what they wanted to do with the movie. Exactly, looks like the same thing will happen, but this time it's hopefully more intentional. Plus we get to see the large-scale human-zombie fight 28 Days Later was dying for.

I agree with Fang, they pissed me off with that one.
Plus, the 28 days later zombies werent even zombies, just crazy people.
Stick with the Romero classics.
