Active Characters : 37796 Standing Survivors : 19832 (63%) Standing Zombies : 11184 (37%)
Seesh what happened to all the zombies.

I wouldn't say it's cause for alarm. I've played this game long enough to know that the balance tends to go back and forth on a semi-regular basis.
I have a theory that a disproportionally large number of "zombies" are actually survivors that are waiting on revives anyway, so really the "balance" probably isn't so much a true balance as it is a measure of which side currently has the upper hand in kills-to-revives.

you are correct sir! I'm a stats nut, and after a year of looking at the stats page maybe 5 times a week, I figure:
The total population tends to drop whenever the survivor count rises above 60% Zombie players average between 35% and 40% of the gaming population new players are more likely to play survivors
The zombie count was lower once before, the drop in players in general is most likely caused by summer break hitting right after finals week (much the same thing happened last year).

Yeah, I look at the stats page a lot, and it goes back and forth. Though sometimes the zombies need a new update to get the upper hand again.
And the player numbers dropped after Christmas break too.

the biggest plunge was indeed right after christmas break...33-67 in survivors favor, and only 3600 playing.
The one immutable statistic, that I believe will signify the game is truly losing people is "Players active in the last hour". It's never dropped below 2,000 at the hour of server reset (historically the most active)
Interestingly: RRF is now the biggest faction again.

Yah, players active is almost always the same.
And look, the C4NT still have 61 members, despite everything!

Malton's angels are currently not on the game stats page, I think our numbers have dropped to 9 most of us don't play over the summer...we need more recruits.

I've wondered what you guys have been up to, though I didn't know about the stats page thing.
Well, maybe you could use the Extravaganza thingy to lure in new people....

Padre: You might be interested in this page, if you haven't seen it already. There's also another one that tracked them daily instead of hourly, but it went down after the guy's computer crashed and hasn't been back up since.
