Got to disagree, Hector is greek mythologies most awesome figure. No way, it's Heracles. Guy's the closest the Greek will ever get to the awesomeness of Norse mythology. I agree with parts of Trehkan's post. But there are somethings I have to disagree with. I used to Hercules because the Roman version of Heracles just plain sucked. And because Heracles is the actual Greek name for him. I used the Roman version to show that Disney is a bunch of fools, and that the Romans sucked. Hmm... I see your point. The Romans were a bit sucky. Comes from taking much of their religion and culture from the Etruscans, I suppose.

If it's Greek, I'm into the Spartans being most awesome, though they aren't really a figure, more something like a people...

Bah. They were cool, until Zack Snyder had to go and make a movie about it. The comics were okay, but making a movie that was historically inaccurate in multiple spots just killed the overall perception of the Spartans. Stupid Hollywood defiling everything sacred.

*Sigh* I advise you to listen to Spring, by Rammstein. Then do exactly what the man does in the song. Please.

Movie maybe. But it killed the perception of the Spartans. 1 in about thirty or so people know that the Spartans wore a Lamellar (not sure on the spelling, it's been awhile...) body armor, not running around in armored panties. Almost no one knew how off it was historically. The queen didn't request aid be sent to the Spartans, they knew they were going on a death charge. Ephialtes wasn't a freakishly mutated person, just a average traitor. There were actually about 2000 Greek troops that stayed behind. 300 Spartans, 700 Thespians, and about 900 Laconian troops stayed behind, not just the average perception that only 300 Spartans were there. The Spartans didn't die in the pass, but actually on a small hill nearby. Leonidas wasn't one of the last to die, but he actually died much earlier than the last Spartan. Historians report that the Spartans fought tooth-and-nail to recover his body, and that it took multiple assaults on his death ground jsut to recover it. The Thespians weren't slaughtered along with the Spartans, they defected to the Persians in the final battles.
In short, the movie was historically shot. Alot. But it was pretty cool to watch.

GTFO your logic.
Movies are allowed to be innacurate as long as they don't get too carried away with it.
Like if they make a movie with Germany and Russia on the same side in WWII but make it take place in the 1970's and call it accurate.

Bah. Take your consumerism and choke on it. Just kidding. But we agree that 300 was still a cool movie to watch right?

Nah, I wrote a report on the actual battle, about 4 years ago. Way before they even thought of destroying the thing with a movie. . I also was payed to write another one, about two years ago. Kids and their laziness. Saddening.
