No tension; I quit being annoyed by survivor denial a while back. Now it just gives me lulz. And there's really nothing to argue about.
That lag's not a survivor-only thing, you know. You didn't lose because of lag. The lag affects us, too. It's not like our attacks go through in a timely fashion but your responses don't. It affects us all equally.
We hit Dowdney Mall and there were more than 20 survivors actively barricading, against fewer zombies than we hit Caiger with - and without all the other zombie groups standing around / joining in - we were absolutely alone. We still got in and ransacked the quad. So no, 30 survivors barricading would not have carried the day for you, regardless of how fast the server was.
You lost Caiger because our offense was more coordinated than your defense and because we had much higher numbers than you did. Pretty straightforward. Our tactics were not some brilliant Sun-Tzu move. We came at you in the usual way and got in in the usual way, while you defended in the usual way. The song remains the same.
Attributing it to lag is pretty insulting and it also is dangerous because it will have you thinking that what you did would've worked if the servers had just been faster.
Of course, Sonny is absolutely right - Caiger was going to fall without LUE showing up; we merely accelerated the process.
As far as pride goes, consider it (if you can) from our point of view. For a good month now we've been hearing a lot of trash-talk coming from Caiger, about how we couldn't take the shining beacon of humanity, and thus were staying in the east. That is when 27.35 wasn't beaming accusations of zerging and the like.
In the past 24 hours LUEsers have been called assholes, faggots, retards, motherfuckers, dumbfucks, jerks ... let's see, did I miss anything ... oh yeah, "pieces of shit" ... by defenders near Caiger - several touting themselves as CMS or NMC. Both individually (I've had dozens of people call me out by name) or as a group, on the radio and by some embittered trenchie shrieking in a mall full of zombies.
Frankly, the Caiger area puffed its chest out, ran its mouth, and then got its teeth kicked down its throat. Most of us at LUE are rather disappointed; we really wanted more out of it than we got, and Caiger did not deliver the goods in any fashion - but if there's some prideful zombies out there, perhaps it's because Caiger talked itself into the curb-stomping it received. This is just the aftermath of that.
