Hi all. I'm going to introduce both of my Ranger alts and explain where they are stationed at. To avoid even accidentally zerging, I drew a line at Y=50 which starts at the boundary between border between Owlsleybank and Grigg Heights. One of my alts works south of the line, and the other north of the line.
Kai Tan Sying (http://www.urbandead.com/profile.cgi?id=795783) is stationed in Southern Malton. (Y>50)
Fallen Optimist (http://www.urbandead.com/profile.cgi?id=969988) is my newest Ranger and is stationed in Northern Malton. (Y<50)

Wait...Isn't it considered zerging if both your alts are in the same group?

Actually guys it has long been a part of the Ranger wiki that expresses we may have more then one character in the group.
As long as they NEVER come in contact with or help each other in anyway. I believe a few other groups condone this as well, the Feral Undead for example allow their members to have multiple FU zombies.
However I don't know of any other Rangers that have multiple Ranger alts and to keep our reputation as it is I believe we should only have one Ranger per person.
So cypherneo I think it would be best for you to just choose one character as a Ranger for now.
I'll have to see about that ruling on our wiki though, was an old rule made by Grippy himself I believe.

Good question, I had forgotten about him. I personally don't see a problem with it as long as the characters never help each other or come in contact with each other. But then again I don't want to see any drama started over this crap either.

We had our fill of zergling drama at the Battle of the Bear Pit. I forget who it was, but the Ackland Abattoir had a field day with it.

Fremen Warrior I think was who it was? Anyway, the guy with the cowboy as his display picture. Keep in mind, he had at least a DOZEN alts, and actually was using them illegally, by being a barricade bot.
And Grippy had 2 people in the rangers. Ian does, DHG did, as far as I know, the majority of the Rangers do...
I'm also pretty sure that the majority of groups do allow it, so long as you don't use them for zerging.

I've seen some drama in other groups over this thing before but yeah.
Ignore my previous post, as long as they don't interact in any way it's okay per the wiki cypherneo.

Oh, I wasn't disagreeing with you, Wulfgar, I was just saying. Grippy was a tad too lax about that sort of thing, and there are plenty of times I can think of when it really could have caused problems.
Perhaps someone should edit the wiki a bit to reflect the current leader's views? Grippy has been gone a long time now, and seeing as how he managed to buy himself brain rot, it's a safe bet he won't be back.

I don't really have a major problem with it, I couldn't really care either way.
Not sure what jleggitt's views on it are though.
I figure it's just easier and less drama likely to say one character only.
The only Ranger I can think of currently that has multiples is ian.
But for now we'll just go by what the old wiki says I suppose.

i think it's a bad policy and should be changed. I had two alts in the rangers in the beginning and I found it hard to not run them as a one. i never zerged but I did use info gained from my alts to help the rangers cause.
i think you really should rethink it. i'm not accusing anyone of anything but it would encourage people to spread out their alts and see more of malton and meet more people.
it's just bad form is all.

I've been posting around, but I never posted here. Suppose I should.
Anyway, I'm Sergius Bianchi (In-game of course). I've been playing UD since about November of '05, but this is the first time I've really been grouped up and part of something. I try to be helpful, and I like to Rp when I get the chance, in-game or on forums.
So, yeah. I look forward to participating in "Glorious Battle" with the groups of the NMC as many times as I can. Glad to be here.
