Ah, didn't notice this subforum earlier. Without further adieu... MJS.
A post-grad in his late 20's at the University of Wisconsin Murray Jay Suskind was working on becoming a college professor. As part of his studies, he visited Malton for an academic conference on the impact of American Pop Culture on the rest of the world. As the weeks wore on, Murray took a shining to Malton, enjoying the plentiful cinemas, bars, as well as the well established scientific and academic communities. He even braved the initial frenzy when his flight was delayed. Observing zombie behavior from a distance, Murray watched as events grew more and more out of control. Eventually, he could watch no more, as he started to flee, fighting for his own survival.
Racing across Malton, Murray actually found some of the skills he learned in the Peace Corps -- building infrastructure, purifying water, etc. -- to be helpful as he managed to gain survivor trust, for however short a period of time at each of his stops.
But as was indoctrinated by so many George A. Romero films, it was the living and not the dead that were Murray's greatest enemies. Fights for control, demands for loyalty, and different gangs of survivors claiming turf ruined location after location for Murray. Now he just wanders around Malton, finding a new place to stop every so often.
