The Dead looks like they're gonna be a flash in the pan to me. Just a bunch of arrogant people who don't know anything about the game, that won't get the support of many zombie groups. And from what I've heard about Shacknews & LUE, they were much more respectable than this group (I wasn't around then  ). It's really quite an amazing outlook on psychology and comm theory: you DON'T see gigahordes of survivor players that exist for ANY extant period of time (PTT is the only one I can think of that even comes close). And gigahordes of zombies tend to wink out of existance from the get-go, or amass huge followings of fellow zombies and conquer the world. As for how the dead compair to Shacknews and LUE...not even close...LUE was underestimated at the start though, so that's something to think about...The thing that best reflects their groups unsuitability for this game is this lovely screenie I took of their numbers at 2:15 central time today:  as an astute student of numerology, I hate them already... it's probably only a matter of time until shadowbane nightwish shows up* *PM kyndrid if you don't get that |

Well, I do hear some of the veteran AMS guys like Taru talk about LUE very respectfully. I've gathered most of what I know about them and Shacknews from friends in the MOB and other zombie groups.
I don't know who shadowbane nightwish is, but the 1337 thing is pretty stupid, I'll agree. ;D

And how many of those will play the week out? Not many. I'd be surprised if over a hundred of them are still playing at the end of the week.
As most raids, people tend to drop in once in a while and be as annoying as they can, until they get tired of it, then they give it up and don't really care anymore.
Though I might be wrong about the goons, they might be more persistent than I've gotten the impression of.

Yeah, I hear this paranoid garbage about how they're going to take all the NT's and hold them? There are about 200 NT buildings in Malton, so even if they had 1500 active players and the coordination to do it, they could have 7 people attacking each NT.
Worst case scenario; Most of them stick with the game, and form an active horde as devastating as Shacknews or LUE. That's a far stretch though, and I am going to have to agree with Magatsu. They're just bored forum rats.

On one end, I kinda hope they drive us to that desperate of a time. It'd be interesting to see if we could adapt.

Basically my word for the amalgam of everything I detest about fantasy MMORPG's...everything urban dead is not. |

I wouldn't doubt it... he also thinks elves are the coolest thing ever, and thinks "RP-ing" consits of saying "Shall," and "Slay" a lot...when he appears in fan fiction (his own, naturally), he tends to scoff at things other people do...it's very hard to impress him, because he's very badass |
