Just throwing it out of the blue, but in theory, what would happen if many large survivor groups chose to, without warning, move to the north-west, where it's turning gray, rebuild the suburbs, wipe out the few zeds that remain, and make a safe haven up there? Its tough out there. I would suggest survivors stop trying to hold any malls. Concentrate on needles and revives. Our numbers are too small to hope to hold much at this point. True enough, trying to hold Malls may be all but a futile effort at this point. It may come to just roving around and grabbing needles where you can, but a few places still hold at the moment.

Unfortunately, it's true that Caiger won't hold for long. We're fighting a small siege right now, and as soon as Giddings is finished, it's only a matter of days at most until they arrive at Caiger.
I personally don't know what to do, but it's looking pretty bleak. People are talking about revive bombing and other unconventional strategies that sound really interesting though.

Zombies outnumber survivors for the first time ever, as far as I know. That's at least partly because of the creation of the Dead, but the number has been slowly creeping up, which makes me wonder if some poor bastards are sitting in revive queues in ruined suburbs waiting for a needle.
Stanbury Village has no shortage of zombies (map shows it as Very Dangerous), but the mall and Went NT are currently intact, and the revive queue at Yeoman is moving right along. I urge folks wanting a revive or a place to restock to come to Stanbury Village. I have an alt shambling with the Dead in the NE, so I've seen enough of their speed and destructive power to believe that they can crush the Village whenever they want.
It the suburb dangerous? Absolutely. The RRF is knocking on our doors, and there are about 45 zombies outside of Went. But in a way, the fact that Stanbury Village is marked as red is the very thing that is deflecting the attention of the Dead away from it. It's already been noted that they're drawn almost magnetically to green suburbs, and when those are all gone, I suspect they'll shift their focus to crushing yellow suburbs. I'd rather take on the RRF plus MOB plus all the other zombie hoards in the game combined then have to go toe-to-toe with the Dead, which is ten times the size of the RRF.
If you're dead or low on supplies, come to Stanbury Village. Get patched together. Restock. Pick up a new kilt from the fine Kilt Store. Stay, if you like, or go out to do glorious battle in other suburbs, again. Do it while you still can, because as soon as someone marks the Village as merely dangerous or (even worse) moderate or safe, the Dead will be back to finish us off.
I'm no defeatist, but I think greatest obstacle to the Dead's apparent goal of wiping out virtually all survivor resistance in Malton is boredom. If this is indeed an invasion by Something Awful as I've heard people say on the wiki, their interest in the game won't last for long. Boredom ultimately drove off both Shacknews and LUE. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that if survivors learn that their suburb is the next target of the Dead, they should probably abandon it immediately and flee for a RED suburb far behind the attack wave - one the Dead already consider conquered and so hopefully aren't watching very closely. How's that for unconventional strategies?
This has been a hard month for survivors.

Indeed. Though at least it hasn't been boring.

Indeed. Though at least it hasn't been boring. Not boring for survivors, but my zombie alt's daily drudgery of "walk into only unruined building in suburb and kill one of the two survivors inside before one of the other 5 zombies do" is getting a touch dull. The last time that alt took damage, it was from an active survivor I'd just killed who stood up and used his remaining AP to flail at me impotently. He didn't even have Vigor Mortis, so he probably burned through 30 AP to get those 4 successful claw attacks in.

Yagoton is probably a bad idea for the moment. And I say that because they just demolished Shearbank, and they're already attacking and demolishing Yagoton. After that, I'm guessing they'll be hitting the Calvert/Caiger area, since that's where the refugees from Shearbank are going.
That being said, the Malton Rangers are down fighting in Hildebrand right now against the RRF, and we sure could use some backup there. The Aardwolf Rangers have arrived with us. We are being besieged in Hildebrand and Herbert, and we don't really got the resources to hold both, but with a bit of backup we could probably manage. So I recommend Roftwood.
Also, Burgandy, I've been changing that News Fader we got at the top of the forums each day with updates, so if you got something else you'd rather have up there, by all means, take it away.
Edit: Also, Redwave, good to see you and yours have finally made it to Hildebrand. Thanks for showing up, and good job killing that human RRFer earlier.

Yeah, if we had a few hundred more survivors down here we might even be able to make a fight out of it if the Dead came our way.

It's starting to heat up around Tynte Mall as well, although on a lower scale to anywhere else, it seems. Twenty-odd zombies doesn't sound like a problem until you realise that's about equal to the fighting population of the mall right now: and being next door to Ridleybank was never good.
Still, it seems likely that it'll be next after Hildebrand anyway, so I'll nip down tomorrow and lend a hand.

Done and done! And thanks for the News Feeder thing! If we could get more people helping out around here, it would really help out!

Anybody who is down our way, we need you in Herbert right about now. Six in there, was eleven earlier. If we lose the NT though, we're done for. Everyone inside is healed, I did manage that, though I got absolutely no FAKs left now.
Not much of a medic without FAKS >.>
My personal suggestion: Make sure you got supplies before you show up here, cause it's tough. I came in with a full complement of FAKs, Three Needles, Two Fully loaded pistols, plus my toolbox, DNA extractor and radio.
Now I'm down to the Toolbox, DNA Extractor, Radio, two emptied pistols and a single syringe.
It's a tough fight, but the glory is overwhelming!

I love these kinds of fight... The one that start out looking like it might be possible to win it, if you had a few more guys. Then more guys show up, awesome guys, though a bit tired after arriving from another battle. They come in, kick some ass, get stinking drunk, try to light the zombies on fire just for the hell of it and all that. But! There's more zombies arriving as well! And the breaches increase a bit. Luckily, things get better after a while. But it turns out that's because they've moved to target another building! So our heroes rush there as fast as they can, tired and worn, but with the fires of Hades burning in their eyes and heart. And let me tell you... what comes next can only be called a piece of Glorious goddamn Combat!

Darn straight.
Like I told Wulfgar, after we get done with this whole battle thing, I want at least a day dedicated to restocking and rest, cause I mean, running out of FAKs, especially with how many I carry, just doesn't happen. Ever. Cept at Blackmore. And now here.
Darn ridiculous. And then they eat you and you got to stand in this darn long line with Cavek.
Also, as an update to those who were curious, they've just about got Herbert NT at this point. Something on the order of 17 of em inside, which is more than humans at this point. They really chewed us down all day today, cause I know there was like 60-70 survivors at the start.
