Sounds like a siege-breaker. I wish you guys luck, regardless.

Yeah, it's over now. Unless some sort of miracle occurs. And this despite my awesome speech.

That got out of hand rather quickly. I mean, that really escalated fast.
Brick killed one with a trident and we still lost.
Every time it looks like we can win somewhere, they up and do that to us.
And after the speech too.

Well, if that's Hildebrand down, Tynte's probably next. Ungood. Time to remake those barricades!

Nichols is closer, it's in danger too.
Damn, this just sucks. It was impossible to mount a defense before, and now a man can't even catch a breather in this city.
We need to shack up and dig in somewhere, throw a proper battle. And Extinction isn't invited for once.

No, you need to change tactics. I've debated jumping in but I guess it may be time. It's been said before, bore and frustrate a mega horde and eventually they leave. What's the most frustrating thing to zombies? Cade strafed buildings. This is something you guys are well suited to, you have a decent amount of dedicated players and lots of lurkers, start working smarter. Use those passworded forums again. The problem in Malton right now is the SA goons. Bore them! Abandon the Hildebrands! Abandon the Nichols's! At least until The Dead move on. Then get back to glorious battle.
Break into small groups of about 5 guys per group, stock up on a few FAKS, lots of syringes, and a few gennys and fuel cans where you can (I hear search rates are really good these days) and move into the deep red territories and ghost towns. Each team takes a NT and it's corresponding revive queue. Take the NT's with a genny and some fuel, CR the few zed defenders. Split your time reducing the queue and repair/cade strafing. Strafe no further than VS, anything else and you start risking AP. Start your strafing with repairs and loose cades only, once everything is repaired, THEN cade up to VS. Once attention is drawn to your NT, MOVE ON. Your priorities are to bleed zed AP with decading and re-ruining everything while reviving the local populace to slow down the horde when it turns around and boost the survivor percentage on the stats page. If you strafe to VS and clear the queues before your NT draws attention then MOVE ON. Do not defend ANYTHING. You need to bleed AP and raise the human percentage on the stats page. Once the SA guys realize they can't break the game and all they're doing is breaking down cades they will start to slowly disappear.
Keep your teams in the same general area so that if a team gets taken out they can shamble 10-15 blocks and get quick revives from the other teams. Dump your guns and ammo, but keep a fire ax handy. Your main weapon should be syringes, embrace the combat revive. If you have a rotter in your queue you have 2 choices, ax them, or move on to the next NT/Queue. I would move on. Most Rotters won't be worried about the random deep red territory revive line though, Rotters generally camp out near malls or in contested areas. Don't be afraid to CR random other zombies though, if you see 3 zeds outside a ruined PD, scan them, if they have survivor skills, go ahead and stick them. You'll come out ahead 9 times out of 10. If a zed breaks in to your NT, scan them, revive them even if they have brain rot and no survivor skills. Without survivor skills they won't be able to hurt you when they are breathing. The only ones you don't CR are known PKers.
I was heartened when I ate Wulfgars brains in a random building in Tollyton, then disappointed when I found you guys hanging out in Hildebrand. Get the fuck out of there and start doing the strategically important work. Once you guys get below 25% it will be way more difficult to come back. You're at 31% now, get the fuck to work!
[/end rant]

Okay, good point. It does look as if mall sieges just aren't the way to go anymore, doesn't it. If Ron blows the conch for Rat Tactics (I'm assuming that this sort of thing is what you mean, Don?), I'm in. It might be better than cowering in malls across Malton...

If Ron blows the conch for Rat Tactics (I'm assuming that this sort of thing is what you mean, Don?), I'm in. It might be better than cowering in malls across Malton... That's a pretty good article, could use some alteration though. Close enough. The simple math supports this tactic. repair = 1 AP Ruin = 6 AP Cade = 1 AP Decade = 4 AP To kill a human as a maxed zed= around 35 AP (without decading) Revive = around 18 AP To kill a brainrotted zed w/ ax = around 40-45 AP CR a brainrotted zed in an NT = around 50 AP To kill 2 rotters w/ ax = around 80-90 AP CR 2 rotters in an NT = around 68 AP kill 3 = 120 AP CR 3 = 86 AP Use your math to win. steps to victory: 1. organize 2. restock, every member collects: 1 ax, 1 toolbox, 1 genny, 1 fuel can, 3 FAKS (for infected only!), 1 dna extractor, and the rest of their inventory with syringes. day1 3. Move to random deep red suburb. 4. repair/cade 10 buildings or so, each team member sleeps in different non resource building. day2 5. revive team members that were killed overnight. 6. repair/ cade more buildings, cading your safehouses to VS. day3 7. take the NT with a genny and CR's. Most NT's in the abandon area have only 3 or 4 zed defenders if any. 8. cade NT to EHB (still sleep in VS safehouses) 9. start on the revive line day4 10. repair/cade strafe all buildings in surrounding area, now including other resource buildings 11. revive the queue 12. restock syringes day5-7 repeat day 4 13. MOVE ON! When you are hurt do not heal, it'll actually be easier to just let yourself die and revive later. You won't have an easy FAK source. Only heal when infected as it interrupts your activities. Heal yourself, don't heal others as they may just get killed anyways before they come back online.

The Rangers were down in Tollyton for a few days fighting to restore it. Then the RRF came and most of us got hit pretty bad, so that's when we pulled back to Hildebrand.

And you need to redefine the way you react to these things for now. The RRF was making a mad dash to get out of the wasteland that moved in around us in the SE so we could eat, the first feeding ground we came to was Tollyton. 2 hours after I finished Wulfgar off and had dragged Cavek into the street I saw Wulfgar alive inside the building for a few seconds. Instead of Hildebrand you should have pushed forward to Tapton or some place like that. Set up a small safe zone in the ravaged area, revive your dead, and continue on. I love fighting you guys because you always bring a great battle, but right now is the time for other tactics.

I have to admit there is nothing more relaxing than having a sack full of syringes and being revived just waiting until you have the AP to stand up and revive 4 or so more people. Then have some zombies use up their AP so you can take another nap. That's my kind of gaming. heh, heh.

I actually really prefer suburb-wide fights to mall sieges. By a large margin.
Hey- you guys want to open a... "Roftwood Revive Clinic"? We could make the Whale Building our RP. Think of it- "REVIVES ARE IN THE WHALE." Awesome.

Rat Tactics? Is that what they are calling our noble and wonderous strike and fade attacks these days? Hmph.
Call them Gorilla Tactics if you must. Not Rat.

I think it's obvious why the zombies term them Rat Tactics. They're referring to the little rat zombies left behind when a horde moves on. Known conventionally as ferals.
See us, we're the cats. We pounce opportunistically on such suburbs.
I hereby rename them Cat Tactics!
