where do i sign up to be part of the rat pack?
perhaps these strike teams should be formed among people within the same time zone, or at least who are free at the same GMT time each day ...

Well, those of you with access to Cloak (and Dagger) will be able to see a signup thread; not going to plan this in a public part of the forum, I'm afraid. Paranoia is handy. If we get enough people, the time zone groupings will help: but, simply, we need more people.

I think I'll help take the stand at yagton last time the city got this bad, it was our personal initiative at yagton that swung things back into survivor hands...we can do that again.

IDK...I think the last time yagoton "swung back", the cade nerf wasnt in place and you now have the EF and Extinction, both pretty coordinated groups, making yagoton their frontline. It'll be a lot tougher this time around to get a foothold and even tougher to keep it.

The Undeadites are shambling into Dulston at the moment. If you're game for a confrontation I may be able to arrange for the horde to shamble to your location. We'd love to get our teeth on your well-coifed heads.

I'm going to agree with showcase that this is not the best course of action. For one Yagoton was just wiped out and still has many active zeds. Also like showcase said EF and Extinction are in the area. On top of them The Dead are nearby in the Caiger area and about to take out Calvert from the looks of things. Even if Yagoton was retaken it'd be quickly smashed again.

well sure, if you want to be LOGICAL about it the BEST course of action is to get the whole NMC to one suburb absolutely no one has heard about and rebuild our forces there, and then move out...
I'll try that AFTER I die poetically

I have a plan, its risky but if we pull it off it'l be a perfect staging ground for the NMC Mockridge Heights is surroned by Reds and is close to the zombie heartland, figure its a ghost town currently and bordeds stanbury, which boarders Ridleybank. That would be perfect for us, also Dunnel and Owlesy banks that are on the west side and are both gray. Then we can sweep down with that divine light i know we have.

If you hit Mockridge the zeds in nearby Central Malton will sweep down on you and take you out.
The hills and all of the NW are being patrolled by Extinction and The Dead.
The NE is being taken apart by the Big Bash and all the other zed groups are running wild throughout the land.
Best to pick a mostly abandoned area not near any known large zed hordes and try the before mentioned Cat Tactics or whatever you want to call them.
That's what the Rangers are doing.

There is no stand at Yagoton, Padre.
There is no stand at Dulston.
There is no stand at Caiger, or at Stickling, or at Giddings, or even in Blackmore.
You cannot fight a horde that has hundreds of people log on at the same time and bust into a building. Not unless you have the converse, which is hundreds of people barricading.
We don't have hundreds of people. There are 39 in the C4NT, 29 in the Rangers, and the Quartly contributes 19. The other groups in the NMC aren't even on the stats page, far as I can see. And the Librarians are doing their own thing already, talking philosophy likely.
Add that to the fact that, at the very least, that 29 in the Rangers is quite a bit lower. I'm guessing C4NT's numbers are in the same situation.
There is no stand. There is only going around, reclaiming what they've taken, and leaving before they can find you.
We must weather the storm until The Dead quit of boredom. Like Shacknews and LUE did before them. We've handled the RRF and Bash before, and so we can handle them again. It's the Dead and the barricade update that tipped the favor to them. Once the Dead leave, we'll be able to revert to the old days somewhat, at least.

that's a depressing assessment...especially the numbers I however, am a little more optomistic. Our strength has always been to rally other survivors, having said that, we DO need to find a way to restore our numbers...this forum used to be the biggest survivor conflagration in existance...I mean to bring that back.
But our immediate concern is the fact that we (once again) seem on the brink of disaster...historically, this is when we are at our best. Historically, we've also survived not by adopting one exact plan of attack but a number of different strategies...coordinating survivors is like hearding cats, but if we keep the good information flowing, each one of us will be able to make the decisions necessary to gun down our putrid opponents.
Here's what I have for you:
The suburb of scarletwood is weathering the storm quite nicely, we have a working necrotech building right next to a cemetary...the cue is long, but the angels and the GBP have lots of Nechrotechnicians there to help, if you want a garunteed revive, this is the place to go. There's also a functioning mall a mere one suburb away.
Personally, I'd wager that the best plan of attack is the one the rangers are enacting: I shall be throwing my lot in with them. I believe the remaineder of the angels will attempt to bring vital systems online in the southeast, in an attempt to keep one chunk of this city available for garunteed revives. The dead can be beaten very easily; walk several suburbs for revives, and use your time as a zombie to injure zombies on the street if you have to. the important thing is not that we focus on accomplishing one objective (which will be beaten down quickly), but that we enact several operations simultaniously.

This is a bit random, but maybe yous should start heading into the IRC for more than just strikes. I see the newest recruit, Jukkelus is in there, so maybe if we all start coming in more often, we can get some actual conversation going.
It'd be a nice start to promoting a more community sense sorta thing.

Man this is depressing, we're going extinct guys. We were on the stats page, now I've hemorrhaged a few members, so has everyone else.
Things look pretty grim, and there isn't even an NMC to turn the tide andymore...
