this was figured out by one of our newest beavers, rockyroad. spread the word, NMC
Q: What is ?rise?
A: ?rise, when added to the end of the URL (www.urbandead.com/map.cgi?rise) will allow a zombie to stand up immediately if they are actively refreshing the page. this costs them 0 ap until they stand and they can go until they IP out. This is why sometimes you kill a zombie and it's back up before you can clear the building
Q: That stinks! how do we combat that?
A: ?dump is the answer! What we need to do is work together and when someone gets the zed down to 12hp (15hp if they don't have a flak jacket) and we use 1 ap to speak to the room calling out 'OK, everyone get ready to ?dump!'
Once you see that called out, type ?dump at the end of your URL (www.urbandead.com/map.cgi?dump) and hit enter then just keep hitting f5 until the zed is gone!
-------------------------------------------------
If used correctly and multiple people are ?dump-ing we should be able to get even the quickest ?rise'ers out most of the time!
we've tried it at dewes where we had a particularly pesky member of minions of the apocalypse refuse to leave. it works.

personally, I relish the fact that we're still beating the zeds handily dispite the recent updates and this whole "Rise?" issue... so I savor the fact that I don't HAVE to use it

I didn't miss hall (Grins) I'm wherever one or two of you have gathered in the name of class It's been a constant that survivors lose sieges to zombies, this has not and will not ever change pending a durastic redesign of the game, you can reference the numerous posts I've made about tempo and material to confirm this, suffice to say zombies almost always get to say when and where they want to attack, and can never "lose" of anything (besides AP).
Nevertheless, we're still beating 'em numbers wise...heck, 25% of the zombie numbers are probably survivors waiting for revives.

During the RRF's siege of Santlerville, while still in the early stages, I ?rised 6 times in one break in at Dewes, to get rid of me someone tossed in a genny and CR'd me. I had no guns or anything and we weren't allowed to kill as humans anyways so I sat there and talked shit until someone killed me a few hours later. I always saw it as an annoyance to humans, not something that really needed to be combated. It's only effective as an AP sink when the AP battle is close.
