Jericho is a town in western Kansas near Denver, Colorado.
All major cities, with the exception of Columbia, Lawrence, and NYC, are nuked. America ceases to exist. China, Germany, and England vie for control over the new America by sending supplies to various factions inside the US.
The plot usually revolves around characters in the town trying to survive, uncovering the truth, and struggling with secrets. They fight mercenaries, criminals, impersonators, and neighbors.
It's an excellent show. It was cancelled but because of a large amount of people supporting it they brought it back for a second season.
All the episodes are free on their site on CBS.

NYC is not destroyed? I find that......a bit.....you know, unexpected. Maybe the country behind the attack likes New York in June? I could probably come up with better random speculation about the reasoning, but that's the first thing that springs to mind, for whatever reason.

After 9/11 they raised security in the city and caught the terrorists.
Watch the show. You'll understand everything.

Good show.
Another good show that was once cancelled was Firefly. I love Serenity too.

Gotta make real conversation instead of one sentence posts. No way! What maturity! Anyway, I watch Heroes and the 4400, and that's it. When I do have access to TV, I love to watch music videos too. It's just too bad there's all these idiotic shows in the way...fething MTV...

After 9/11 they raised security in the city and caught the terrorists. Ah, wishful thinking at its best. I guess it must have come out before we found out that Homeland Security's primary contributions are the Random Terror Alert Rainbow, promising funding for counter-terrorism measures and then reneging on those promises, and confiscating mouthwash and toothpaste in carry-on luggage.

Good show. Another good show that was once cancelled was Firefly. I love Serenity too. Firefly is awesome. The movie had some good stuff, but it also had a lot of annoying things, too, but that's Hollywood, I suppose. They made a Serenity RPG that my wife is running on Sunday nights. We're all enjoying the game, but whoever wrote the mechanics needs to be dragged out in the street and left for the Reavers. We've had to house rule so many things simply to keep the rules from being alternately broken and stupid. The only reason it feels at all like the Firefly universe is because the GM and all the players loved the show and ignore all the mechanical flaws of the game that make it run completely contrary to the way the show feels and the way the rulebook *claims* it should make the game like.

I've seen a lot of reviews that state serenity is one of the best scifi movies ever.
