I like to be able to reinforce or control my emotional state by having the appropriate music available to induce it. I sorta do the same thing. Ish. Music changes my mood, anyway. Lordi? Have you ever seen their Hard Rock Hallelujah video? It's hawt... And wow, someguy was funny for once!  |

im not big on metal..they scream to much..it aint music... would avenged sevenfold count though cause they're good. Well, in a lot of German metal, there i s little screaming. The thing is, a lot of people don't like the deep sounding voices. Seriously, go listen to Rammsteins song Mutter (Mother), and you'll see that metal isn't about screaming. And some of Avenged's earlier albums are tolerable. Some of those European metal bands sing in English, too - for all us second-language-impaired Americans. Blind Guardian is the one I know best. Some of their songs are unintelligible without the lyric sheet, but they also have some really good stuff that is completely clear and lacks screaming - "The Maiden and the Minstrel Knight," "Lord of the Rings," and a good chunk of the songs on their Nightfall in Middle Earth album (which is still my favorite of theirs, though aNatO has some great stuff). Hell, even Metallica and Iron Maiden have some lyrically beautiful (and not musically overbearing) songs. |

"Would You Love a Monsterman" is also catchy as all hell, but part of my love for that song is that the video with the young girl is like the perfect theme song for a relationship between two NPCs in the Mage game I run. Basically, the father is a Jekyll/Hyde character who only has magic when he's going on mad killing sprees a la the movie SEVEN or when he's protecting his 14-year-old daughter from mages who try to recruit her (as she is also a mage, though she barely understands her own powers). |

Um...aight...but have you seen that video that I asked you about? You mean from the European contest (the name briefly escapes me) a couple years back, right? Absolutely. I have an Australian friend who exposed us to that the day after it was broadcast, and it is the very definition of over-the-top to the point of being awesome. The music video version of the song is a bit more standard fare for them. |
