I prolly wiegh half as much as you though. People tell me to gain some *upper body* muscle, my sensei tells me not to... I'm listening to him.

Bah, the whole "upper body strength slows you down" thing is an entirely antiquated concept. You just have to use the proper strengthening methods.

and stretch, tendons shorten when you do weight training so if you didnt stretch after awihle you'd slowly curl up.
Too much muscle however can restrict movement. For this to happen though you'd need to be ridiculously huge - training all your life huge

If you're worried about getting big and bulky, just do body weight exercises then? Works for me at least.

Body-weight excercises are ok if you do them really fast, plyometrics. It raises your lactic acid resistance and is good an-aerobic excercise (good for the sprinting used in parkour). However for real gains you need to keep adding weight to see an progress
On a similair note i was doing deadlifts earlier and afterwards i sort started shaking, like my whole body. It stopped after a bit but still freaked me out

I had no idea, I just assumed I'd develop the muscles I needed for parkour when doing parkour, and I figured some body weight wouldn't hurt either... Though I should really go to the gym, I am paying a monthly fee for nothing right now... At least go to the power yoga or something, that's good for hang overs as well by the way... Though you might fall a few times.
Shaking sounds a bit odd actually, never heard of that before. Might be an idea to ask a doctor, or a gym instructor or something?

i use my schools gym, so its just a room filled with weights. Its actually better stocked than most of the gyms in my area though... and its free!
Doing some upper body work wouldnt hurt for parkour, especially back and shoulders if your flinging your body around alot. If you are gonna start get someone to go training with you, on your own absolutely sucks and limits what you can do
