Next month is National Novel Writing Month. The challenge is to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. I participated last year and it was one of the coolest things I've ever done. My novel is crap, but that's not the point. I know PR writes, so I thought I'd stick this up here for him and anyone else who might be interested in joining in the novel writing madness that is soon to ensue. Here's the site: www.nanowrimo.org/

Next month as in November? I always have ideas for stories in my head but I never get around to writing them all down. I'm pretty good at writing and grammar and all that malarky so maybe I'll participate in it as well.

Rockby - Yeah, November. You should totally participate! Nanowrimo is perfect for those who "never get around to writing" - it gives us a deadline!
ian - Prizes include a crappy novel manuscript, the right to call yourself an author, and a winner's certificate (print-it-yourself)!
PR - Do it, you won't regret it! We can have some UD Nanowrimo word wars, it'll be sweet.

Don't do what I suggested a few years back and enter a compilation of all the blog and message board posts by people disclosing their intention to participate in NaNoWriMo. As one cranky would-be author pointed out, infringement of copyright. ;D

Well, Art, I'm afraid I won't make the deadline, as two very large papers have been assigned. My personal deadline is christmas, so I can give a copy of it to my little brother, who has inspired many of the characters and helped me make a computer game based on the novel.

Yes, it's that story.. I figure if you're going to write a 200 page book in 2 months with several important papers on the line as well, it's best to stick with the novel that has the most slapstick humor and fart jokes.
