Lachryma looks up at the stars from the mouth of the alley as trash blows around her feet. There were always back doors at the cinema, weren't there? She couldn't remember. But the outside air was nice, even if the slight smell of smoke swirled about.
Lachryma sighs and looks over her shoulder. She just has to know what happens next. The emergency exit door is a little tricky to reopen without sound, but she manages well enough. Despite the lack of fresh air, it was nice to be back in the darkness of the cinema.

Priz is slightly impressed by this plan.
Smiling, he says "Hell, that thing is an import, pretty much all plastic. I bet I could move that without ether of them, as long as the e-brake is off and the tires have a little rubber on them." He looks around, and continues, "Although I am sort of curious as the where exactly they went. Anyway, be sure to light those fireworks a nice, long ways away. I don't want any more company showing up at our doors. After we move that car around, I'll head back up to the roof and cover you on your way back, as I seem to be the only one with a real gun around here." He hefts his rifle.

"Ok, just give me 5 minutes to get those fireworks off before you start shooting. Umm, I think my pickax is staying here. It'd slow me down."
Redwave climbs up to the fire escape balcony, passing Lachryma at the door.
"Think you could pull up that ladder behind me? I'd appreciate it."
Taking the bike's frame around his shoulder Redwave climbed down the fire escape.

Lachryma watches Redwave leave. Maybe he'll bring back fresh fruit.
She pulls up the ladder, taking several small breaks, then returns to the lobby, counting the ammo for her pistol as she walks.
7 shots+lousy aim=support role, she decides.

Micheal lowers his gun. The man doen't seem to threating. "Sorry about holding a gun to your face. Can be too careful. Now, just tell me; what was that button for? And why did you play that music? You got a load of zombies attracted to this place."

Priz slings his rifle and climbs up the rope leading to the second floor. Rummaging through his bag, he pulls out his pistol and crowbar, and moves out to the fire escape. He can see several zombies moving slowly but steadily in the direction Redwave must have gone. Throwing the rifle and some ammo for it on to the roof, he checks his pistol to make sure it's loaded, and waits for the signal.

Redwave cycled down the street, leading a few Zeds at a comfortable distance. Here and there he would pass a couple more, and they'd blindly stumble around and chase after his bike.
Seeing his pack in the middle of the street he took a quick glance at the small group following about 100 yards back.
That should do.
Redwave's bag was a large 80 gallon camping backpack, with the label Malton Outfitters. Pulling out a dry sack with "explosives - don't touch" sharpied onto the side, he plucked out a couple roman candles and 4 large drums labeled "Black Mamba". Shoving the rest back into the pack he set them all in a row. Then, out of the corner of his eye...
"Hot damn!"
The pistol he had lost earlier was in the gutter. A Glock, with that most heavenly of ammo in the clip - hollow point rounds. One shot could separate a Zombie's head from it's shoulders. Sure, he only had 8 rounds of hollow point left, but it was a damn sight better than a rusty pickax.
The Zombies had covered half the ground to his fireworks display by now, but he still had a couple minutes. Just enough time to light all these off in sequence.
"Here goes nothing." He said, while lighting the first Black Mamba and a Roman Candle.

From the cinema, Priz sees the multi-colored balls of light fly up in the air, and seconds later, the sound of the fireworks reaches him. Pulling back the slide on his handgun, he jumps on the ladder and rides it down to the ground.
Peeking around the corner, he spies 3 zeds that have only just become aware of the light show a few blocks away. Timing his shots with the noises of the fireworks, he picks off two of the zombies before they spot him. he pulls his crowbar from his bag, and charging towards the third, smashes it's skull. Stopping momentarily to make sure it's dead, he runs over to the car.
It looks to have once been a 2000s Toyota, a Corolla or something similar. The windows are still amazingly intact, although the car looks to have hit something relatively solid before sliding to a stop almost perpendicular to the cinema's doors. The hood is missing, and it appears as though someone has torn apart most of the engine. Luckily, the wheels are still intact, if very flat.
Well, this is easy Priz thinks to himself, and moves around to the back of the junked car. Placing his hands on the trunk, directly above where someone has spraypainted "Hiroshima's Revenge", he gives the car a firm shove. It only moves slightly. Parking brake maybe? Priz moves around to the front window, and with a swift movement, smashes it in. The smell of something very, very rotten greets him, and nearly knocks him off his feet.
Instinctivly, he raises the crowbar, but whoever was in the car looks to have been dead for a long time. All that remains is a pile of skin and bones dressed in a very nice suit. Hoding his breath, Priz feels around for the brake release. Under the seat, he touches something cold and metallic, and pulling it out, discovers a huge, shiny revolver, ala Dirty Harry.
"Well," Priz says, flicking it open and noting with satisfaction that it still holds 5 unfired rounds, "I think this just brightened my day a bit." Closing the cylinder, he finds and releases the brake, and with some effort, pushes the car in front of the cinema doors. Looking around, he sees that the fireworks are still being launched, and he decides to check around the car for anything else of use. Prying open the glovebox, he finds a box of extra shells and some matches, along with the trunk release, which he pulls.
Walking to the back of the car, he reaches to open the trunk. Suddenly, it flies open, knocking him off his feet, and he finds himself face to face with a very unhappy looking zombie. She appears to have once been about 14 years old, and is suprisingly fresh looking compared to the man in the car. Before Priz can question what she was doing in the trunk, she lets out a shriek and takes a large and painful bite out of his arm.
"Fuck!" Priz brings his new toy up, and losing his typically calm demeanor, fires three noisy .44 rounds into her head. Bleeding profusely from his arm wound, he quickly forgets about the contents of the car and runs back to the fireescape. With a little trouble, he manages to climb back up, and stumbles into the balcony of the theater.
Before passing out, he manages to gasp "Ouch.."

Post by Padre Romero on Jun 22, 2007 17:48:22 GMT -5
the man steps into the light...for the first time, he becomes fully visible. He's decked out in a clerical collar, where his skin shows, it's either tatooed or badly sunburnt.
"My gun wielding friend," He replies, "Once we start needing 'reasons' for everything, the whole system collapses..." Then, with one frantic tap to the control board, he jams the button...
and nothing happens...at least immediately.
Outside in the street, the fireworks explode skyward, drawing the zombies attention away from the now-dead music...as they turn and shamble forward, something happens...
Seven or eight black dishlike objects, stationed atop the cinema and surrounding buildings, switch on. They aren't like ordinary speakers...they're simpler, and much more powerful... what begins as a simple twitching tap slowly builds into a sharp, almost numbing barrage of high frequency pulses, tolerable to our heroes stationed outside, but somehow deafening to their undead foes...they thrash around, still standing, but confused. The nausiating wave of noise seems to be coming from every direction at once...
Inside the theater, a CD player in the sound booth begins playing the theme to "The mission" and Padre Romero smiles, anticipating the first successful test of his homemade Lrad system

Lachryma approaches Priz slowly, wondering if whatever hurt him was in the building. After a moment though, her paranoia is overwhelmed by her old instincts, and so she begins to treat Priz.
The wound is cleaned, disinfected, and, after the bleeding stops due to Lachryma's gentle application of pressure, experimental NecroTech bandages are applied. Lachryma had a decent amount of these anti-infection life savers, but she wasn't sure when she'd see more. She reasons that for using such a precious resource, Priz won't mind her taking his shiny new pistol. She always had liked shiny things.
As she packs up her medical supplies, a strange, all-pervasive sound cuts into her concentration. Lachryma wonders what it is, and, more importantly, what it means for her. She quickly drags Priz behind the concessions counter and heads to the far safer second floor.

The last Black Mamba was burning down in Redwave's hand. He had saved it for the group of Zeds that had followed him. Lobbing it into the middle of the clot, it blew against the ground, horribly burning several of the walking dead. The flash also temporarily blinded them, so that by the time they had recovered he was long gone.
Arriving at back at the Cinema Redwave hears yet more music pouring out from the speakers. A look of anger crosses his face.
I am going to find the ass who put that on and feed him his own CDs!
He can't help but be pleased at Priz' work however, as he surveys the cinema's front. He draws his pistol and surveys the surrounding area. No Zeds to be seen, less the freshly dead corpses. One of the bodies catches his eye however. Half out of the car lies the body of a young girl. Wondering why a body would be there he takes a closer look.
Searching the car he finds that the parking break is unengaged.
That's quite a mistake, I'm gonna have to chew that guy out, after I get his name.
After putting the brake on he checks out the trunk. Inside, past the corpse, is an old BMW handgun, replete with clip and a box of 9 mils, half full. Also in evidence was a fresh blood trail, leading off to words the fire escape.
Not good.
At this point the odd thrumming becomes evident. A corpse on the other side of the street is squirming, evidently in the zombie equivalent of pain. Redwave tested his new handgun on the corpse.
BLAM
Ascending the fire escape he finds Lach patching an unconscious Priz on the floor.
"Oh, sweet crap! What happened?"

Lachryma stops for a moment as she heads to the second floor.
"Happen? There was bite, blood, pain. Is fixed now. Less or more." She waves in the general direction of Priz.

Priz doesn't look so great. Although obviously not infected, he spends most of his time in a fevered sleep,as his body tries to produce enough blood to keep him alive. Waking occasionally, he mutters mostly incoherent things about cities of the dead, crazy pilots, why helping is dangerous, and the damned roundists. It's hard to tell whether his situation is improving or not. ((OCC: Going camping. May or may not return Just leave me upstairs out of the way please.))

Before going downstairs Redwave tosses Piz a water bottle.
"Well, best of luck with the whole infection thing. I'm sorry can't help you more."
While walking down to the main floor he hears talking, Micheal and someone new. Searching around for them he finds the open trap door, and heads into the basement.

Lachryma sees Redwave's water bottle hit Priz. He doesn't look so good.
With an annoyed sigh, she hauls him upstairs and takes his rifle. Then she dumps the water bottle on him, for good luck, and then she heads to the roof.
Someone has to keep watch.
