I think it's safe to say that if the zombies *inside* the building outnumber the survivors, it's looking pretty bleak.

I know, I'm actually ready to cry, but I'm trying to think positively. We really need the PTT... why can't I speak Chinese, why?! EDIT: And it had to be Friday the 13th... Return of the EDIT: Dang, why do I let this game affect me so much? I am seriously upset. And I ought to be sleeping right now. Argh.

Buck up Bastards! They only had to call in Every Zombie Horde in Malton to beat us.
The RRF (Such as it was...) The Apocalypse Horde Red Rum The Shining Ones The Big Bash and Shacknews
It took the equivalent of a zombie nuke to take us down. They literally hit us with everything they had. Even resorting to zombie spies and death cultists (for shame!). All the while whining that the game was imbalanced. I thought the siege proved its balance. When the numbers on both sides are at a 1-1 ratio the battle SHOULD reach a stalemate. The only way one side should be able to win SHOULD be massive numbers and coordination.
And we also proved a few things too. Like a group can't depend on its mythology to defend a place while they're gone. The RRF expected Ridleybank's intimidating presence in the oral history of Malton to keep the place clear of Survivors while they were galavanting about Eastern Malton. We proved them wrong. If they want to hold onto a place they're going to need to make sure they leave a couple hundred zeds to guard it.
Second, we proved the advantages of a single building defense in the post-ransack era. Most of the recent additions to the zombie skills were designed for attacking malls and other multi-corner buildings (as Nichols discovered to its distress). Defending a single building negates these advantages and relatively outdated tactics such as Distributed Defense suddenly come back into play. We also proved the advantage of defending a Necrotech building where we could actuall subsist entirely on a diet of syringes and fire axes.
So it's no great loss, even if we can't rally into Greater Blackmore and strike back. It's one necrotech building in a suburb that only really had symbolic value.

Thanks dude, you've brought me to my senses. You are right of course, and I'll add to that these observations:
The rest of the RRF did end up coming back, even though Sonny swore they were going to ignore us.
We never thought the party would last even this long. It's more like, "Gee, it's about time guys. We've only been waiting to be slaughtered for what, close to 2 months? What took you so long?"
It's actually kind of cool if this thing ends on Friday the 13th of October. I can get behind that.
EDIT:
* solakila killed a zombie. (31 seconds ago)
Looks like darkmiz is rallying the PTT. Maybe they'll all come down! *sigh* Hope springs eternal...
The EDIT strikes back: Well, I've been killed, stood up, and went back inside to witness the rest of this or to be revived if anyone sees me. I guess I can go to bed now... it's been a blast, people.

Yup. There's 149 zombies now, and only 28 survivors inside. I think it's pretty certain to say that the Blackmore is going to fall today. I'm not sad. Not one bit. We went through a 2 month long siege. When has that happened before? Also, look at all the groups we rallied together for a common cause. It wasn't just survivor groups either - a lot of zombie hordes banded together to bring us down. And they didn't do it for fun either, like the Big Bash - rather, they specifically targeted us. So don't be sad, my fellow Bastards. We put up the biggest fight in Malton. What started as a minor operation that we all thought was going to be an easy victory for our enemies turned into a multi-suburb brawl with the best of Malton on both sides (which is why Sonny didn't have much to do with it). But that's okay. If we ever decide to invade Ridleybank again, we know exactly how to do it. What's more, we'll do it better. And if the RRF is serious about making sure an invasion doesn't happen again, they're going to have to dedicate real resources to it. That's one zombie that's not out attacking a survivor safehouse. If Blackmore falls for once and for all, I won't feel sad. I won't feel dismayed. I won't feel defeated. What will be on my mind is where do we want to do this next?

Well said! My sadness was fleeting... I forgot that Art is my sensitive emo kid, but SweetIrony is my sarcastic capricious badass Bastard self. Something humorous: # Lochiel said "Sooooo, anyone for coffee?" (7 minutes ago) # A zombie said "Graagh." (6 minutes ago) # Lochiel said "Graagh" (6 minutes ago) # A zombie killed SingingLCD. (6 minutes ago) # Lochiel said "Milk 1 sugar?" (5 minutes ago) # Lochiel said "Here you go zombie joinee" (5 minutes ago) # Lochiel said "Its best single roast Arabica, I found it at the mall" (4 minutes ago) # A zombie killed Nervous Harold. (3 minutes ago) # Lochiel said "Before you guys trashed it that it - Here you go Hobel, Dr Darktalon, nickolay, and SweetIrony. I will be back to help revive" (2 minutes ago) Thanks for the coffee, Lochiel. Not sure about drinking it while I'm dead, but I appreciate the thought.

Another thing to cheer you up - look at the danger map on the wiki. Look at how many yellow and green suburbs are out there. They're all safe because it took all the zombies in Malton to take us down. I don't think Malton has ever been this safe before.
EDIT: Could someone take a screenshot of it and save it? I really think it should go on the Battle of Blackmore page. By throwing ourselves in the den of danger, we have made the rest of Malton on the more safer and secure.
EDIT 2: I just realized the problem with having so few red squares out there. The only places worthy of our Glory are those close to Ridleybank. If the zombies don't disperse soon, we might have to stick around in the area just to fight opponents worthy of our might.

Yes, my zombie has been going on a walk around the outer suburbs, and has been suprised at the relative safety there. Actually I'm very popular, because I'm the only zombie within blocks sometimes. People keep wanting to shoot me and stuff.
edit /Hahah, that's ok Artaxerxes, I wish I had had a needle, but I had to make do with what I could find.

So, whats the plan now? Fall back to nichols! Boys, those Zombies are gonna go somewhere, and I want them contained!
For the beloved blackmore:
They that have climbed the white mists of the morning, They that have soared, before the world's awake, To herald up their foemen to them, scorning The thin dawn's rest their weary folk might take.
Some that have left other mouths to tell the story Of high blue battle — quite young limbs that bled; How they had thundered up the clouds to glory, Or fallen to an English field stained red.
Because my faltering feet would fail I find them Laughing beside me, steadying the hand That seeks their deadly courage — yet behind them The cold light dies n that once brilliant land...
Do these, who help the quickened pulse run slowly, Whose stern remembered image cools the brow — Till the far dawn of Victory know only Night's darkness, and Valhalla's silence now?

Actually, some of those red suburbs should be updated. Santlerville, for one, has been recovering very quickly from the Bash.
p.s. If anyone understands what I just death rattled, you rule:
You say "Hahahah, zambahz arh nah grazzah. Zah Brahgmarh Bazgarbz arh zahh grazzah, arh zah zambahz ahn Margan hab gham harh harh zam!" to the fifty people nearest to you.
EDIT: 8 left. I was going to go to bed, but I have to stay up and watch this.
EDIT II: Haha it was down to 4 for a while, but now it's back up to 6.

Somebody has spraypainted Barricade, heal, kill, dump, get eaten by zombies. onto a wall. Edited to add - I thought it would be a matter of minutes, but now that the barricades are back up it looks like the carnage has slowed down, though it's only a matter of time. There are 6 survivors left - go Bastards!

That's it:
You are inside the Blackmore Building. The NecroTech logo is set in the wall behind the front desk, and doors open onto powered-down computer rooms and laboratories. The lab equipment has been smashed and ransacked. The doors to the street have been left wide open.
Somebody has spraypainted Barricade, heal, kill, dump, get eaten by zombies. onto a wall.
There is a horde of 184 other zombies here.
There are three dead bodies here.
Since your last turn:

Lol... the last kill and the ransack were both by ferals. EDIT: Ok I say we all go get revived and meet back here on Nov 5th! Re-EDIT: A final count before I finally sleep: 188 zeds inside, 278 zeds outside, 273 bodies outside, 54 at Margery.
