Here's an article I wrote for the Malton Times. I don't have access to edit the wiki, so if someone would please post it there, that would be great.
BLACKMORE FALLS!!

MALTON -- After remaining in survivor hands for more than two months, the famed Blackmore Building was retaken by zombies in the morning hours of Friday, Sept. 13.
The suburb of Ridleybank -- which has only one necrotech building -- was long considered the home of one of Malton's largest zombie groups, the Ridleybank Resistance Front. The horde, initially led by Patrojksi, first occupied the suburb sometime in December 2005. Survivors generally strayed from the area until recently.
While the RRF was participating in the Big Bash, a small number of survivors from the New Malton Colossus and the Channel Four News Team invaded the suburb and ultimately decided to hole up in the Blackmore, not expecting much, other than to fight.
"We attacked Ridleybank and were playing the guerrilla force when Captain Leah suggested -- actually, insisted -- that we hold the Blackmore Building," Channel Four News Team Lead Anchorman Ron Burgundy said after the Blackmore was ransacked. "At that time, it had withstood a few days of siege by 10 or 15 zombies which had been working as a strike team. Things just escalated and really weren't the result of conscious tactics."
Early in the siege, survivors occupying the Blackmore took to calling themselves the "Blackmore Bastard Brigade," the name itself being a bastardization of two famous poems from 18th century literature.
Numbers at the Battle for the Blackmore varied during the siege, but remained fairly consistent, with survivors being outnumbered by three-to-two, and sometimes two-to-one. The night before the fall, more than 280 zombies stood outside of the Blackmore, while only about 180 survivors braced themselves inside.
According to a count commissioned by the Malton Times, it took just about 420 zombies to break the barricades to the building, kill the survivors and ransack the interior of the building.
Residents from every area of Malton came to support the survivor occupants of the Blackmore, and most established survivor groups sent detachments to help reinforce the building.
About a day before the Blackmore fell, a zombie horde called Shacknews invaded Nichols Mall, to the south of the Blackmore, and took control of it after a fierce siege. It is rumored that the Blackmore building fell because Blackmore occupants lacked supplies from the mall. Others have said, however, that the Shacknews horde's coordination allowed the zombie takeover of the building.
Reaction to the fall of the Blackmore has varied from person to person to zombie.
" that we Bastards had managed to do something great," former Blackmore occupant Smithy Jones said about the holding of the building. "We actually scared the shit out of the RRF forcing it to seek the help of other hordes. I now have a deep sense of pride because we made the RRF think twice about leaving its doors unlocked and leaving a Chihuahua for a guard dog."
Zombies seemed encouraged after their two-month siege finally succeeded.
"That was cool," Apocalypse Horde is quoted as saying on the Big Bash forums. "Zombies assault Blackmore non stop, and even massively outnumbering the people inside, very little occurs. Take one corner of nearby Nichols mall. The place crumbles almost over night. I just can’t believe how skittish they are. Seriously, what are these things? Survivors, or nervous Chihuahuas with bad tickers and numerous phobias."
But while many survivors said they think the battle was a loss, many are planning a counterstrike into the homeland of one of the biggest zombie hordes in Malton.
"Now, the last thing we need is for this to throw the survivors of Malton into confusion," Padre Romero said after the fall. "We need an immediate fallback point to regroup and resupply. These hordes aren't just going to sit around, so neither can we!"
Burgundy said the initial incursion into Ridleybank had a simble goal -- battle.
"Attacking Ridleybank wasn't worth anything in the first place," Burgundy said. "We weren't going to help other survivors and we weren't going to secure a mall or some other tactical place. We went to Ridleybank with the sole intention of entering into Glorious Battle. It begins and ends there. And in that, we were successful beyond any possible speculations.
"I've been in Malton since July of last year and the Battle of Blackmore was among the most interesting things I've ever taken part in."
