Here's all you need to know in order to jump in and chat, as quickly as possible:
1. The Java client will assign you a default nickname (NMC_Member_XXX), but you can change this by typing in "/nick XXXX" where XXXX is whatever you'd like to be called.
2. If you'd like to emote something, just preface it with "/me"
For instance "/me sings a tune" would look to others as "*MajorGrippy sings a tune"
Enjoy!

From the page source it looks like it's #nmc on irc.zirc.org, but I've just had a look and there's no-one there but me, so I'm either wrong or everyone else is asleep.

Who admins the #nmc channel? It was unregistered with ChanServ, so I just registered it; if the proper admin would tell me who they are, I'll give them the temporary password I chose, so that they may pick a new password, and set chan settings/ops/hops/etc.

I was figuring on registering it and admining it since I've got experience with it. Grippy is never really around to deal with it. In fact I got Ewan to leave today so I could register it (PMed him last night when we were talking bassander) and I guess you beat me to the punch. I'll take it over if no one has any reasonable objections to as why I shouldn't. I can get it all looking good with a bot and getting people special privledges.

Alright, I'm going to double post here to draw attention to it so people can see.
The #nmc channel is now registered. Apparently this network is without a botserv, which is completely ridiculous in my opinion, but well, the bot is just there to make things spiffy. Plus I probably could have played a couple of neato tricks with it on some of you more clueless about IRC, but alas that won't be happening either. I can now set privledges and have it op/half-op/voice you when you enter depending on what I put you as. To get access to any of these, you will have to register your nickname each time you get on. If you're using that applet up above, you'll need to start by changing your name to whatever you want using:
/nick *desired name inserted here*
Then you have to register that nickname. Here is what you must type to register your nickname. Once that's registered no one else can use that name without the proper password.
/msg nickserv register *password you want here* *email adress here*
Now your nick is registered. Now you will have to do the following when you get on to let the server know that you're the real you and after it confirms that, you are automattically updated with your privledges.
/msg nickserv identify *your chosen password here*
If you want to have op/hop/voice powers on the channel, post here asking for some. I think I'd prefer to keep the amount of ops and what not small. I'm mostly looking for people with some sort of previous experience using mIRC. I'll need to know your registered name to set your level, so do include that and any experience you might have.
It would probably be nice if people started using this channel to talk more instead of spamming the forums and making it hard to navigate. So, get in here and get a talking folks!
