Well, if there's one thing NW has taught me, it's a few things about IRC. So to be a bastard, I took it upon myself to register the IRC channel and my nickname, so I'm now the god of the IRC room. What does this mean? Nothing, really. Everyone can still join as they please and if people learn to register their names, I can make them channel ops, too, or whatever. Basically, it's the same thing, I'm just considered the owner of the channel  |

how do you register a name? it wont let me change my nick to 'ian' which is rather annoying

Registering names is bull. I can still change my name to IRD, it just asks me nicely not to.
I can be ian too, but it says only for one minute.

oddly enough the same thing happens to me, someone registered my name and has wandered off
