Big changes announced to UD today. Things should get interesting. Let's discuss these updates in view of how they will affect Rangers and the survivor cause in general: * Survivors and zombies alike are finding it easier to navigate the familiar wreckage of the city streets. Survivors can get directions to a nominated safehouse; zombies automatically focus on the most recent groan or scent trail. * Settling in for the long haul, some survivors have been modifying and memorising their safehouses. Those able to scout a safehouse can spend 30AP to survey the building, giving them approximately 5 extra AP per day within their nominated safehouse, until they die or the safehouse is ruined. * A few zombies have been heard bellowing with rage when faced with large numbers of survivors, issuing a louder feeding groan which attracts the dead from further afield. * Zombies are lurching into the deepest shadows of dark buildings, making it harder to escape their tangling grasp in the dark. www.urbandead.com/news.html

First one's just a bit of flavour really. If you've got maps, or ud tool - you don't need directions. Might make it a bit more convenient, but no real gameplay impact.
Second: to get that 30ap back you have stay in one place at least a week. Very good for mallrats. Probably not so important to nomadic types like Rangers.
Third: minor buff for zombies. Attracts them from further out, but they have to spend more AP to get there.
Fourth: another minor buff. Tangling grasp was +10% to attack. Now in dark building it will be what? 15%, 20%? Meh.

Basically this update will be useful for fortifying large buildings, Malls and Forts especially. An extra 5 AP each for 20 survivors can make a big difference in the long run.
***edit***
This won't be as much use to us since we move around so often.

New survivor skill sounds awesome to me. It's gonna be fun trying to figure out how to best use it strategically. And the zombie changes shouldn't change too much of our usual strategies, but I guess they'll make the game a little more balanced and diverse, which is nice.
